History

The ProfuturoProgramme was born out of our experience with FundaciónTelefónica and over ten years of helping improve social settings of children from vulnerable backgrounds in Latin America. Through its Proniño and Telefónica Foundation Classrooms educational programs, it has contributed to the eradication of child labour and to the improvement of education; training teachers in developing the skills needed to meet the challenges of today's digital society.

Since 2005, these programs have benefited more than two million children, directly and indirectly, with the support of 120 local social organizations.

To increase the impact of these initiatives, Profuturo was developed with the purpose of bringing Digital Education to everyone in order that children, youth and teachers receive a quality education aimed at achieving the overall goal of reducing gaps in education and inequality.
